When I see the media coverage of the Charleston SC church shooting my mind goes back to the 1963 Birmingham AL church bombing where four black schoolgirls were killed. I refuse to address the racial ties or hate crime angle of the Charleston SC tragedy; enough people have expounded upon that. What must people have not focused on is the fact that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled.
This is not the first time nor will it be the last time that the enemy attacks us in church. For many of us church is that sacred place where your spirit is uplifted and you feel safe and secure in the presence of God. Why would the Devil not pick this safe haven to attack you? You can physically arm yourself, hire security and wear a bulletproof vest but it will be to no avail. These are the last days and bible prophecy is being fulfilled. So, as I offer you these following words of the Lord, please remember to pray every day—for you, your family, your church leader and leadership including their families, your community, your nation, your enemies (yes them) and those you don’t even know. These are the times where praying, fasting and interceding are critical; things will only get worse so brace yourself naturally and spiritually. 2 Timothy 3:1, NKJV But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! Ephesians 6:11-18, KJV 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; --Alesha Brown, The Joy Guru Host of Let’s Face It w/Wil Strayhorn and Friends on Blogtalkradio www.letsfaceitradio.com Author of Sometimes all you have is Happy (available on Createspace, Amazon and Kindle) thejoyguru.net
